new video day

The song is about this girl who pretends to be happy even though she's not. Spending great amounts of time covering up her unhappiness so people dont' see how unhappy she is. The whole world is a lot like that sometimes. Many prefer to hide their sadness than let it show. Sadness is apparently weak... while joy is strong.... I don't really get it I guess. Nothing wrong with being sad in a sad world.

These are my lovely new boots for stage. Not only are they hot.... they are pretty comfortable considering the height :)

I enjoy modeling, I enjoy being in front of the camera and I really enjoy seeing how a photographer see's me. A good photographer can show you sides of yourself you've never seen if they catch you just the right way :)

Merry Christmas, Joyous Yule and all the other holy days....

Despite the cynical nature of the song I do wish everyone a very merry Christmas, Joyous Yule, happy holy days, and peace on earth. But...

While the Christmas Spirit truly does go around during this time of year, today is really no different than yesterday. Our good cheer and goodwill toward our fellow humans, hasn't solved world hunger, it hasn't stopped war, it hasn't stopped bigotry, racism, or poverty; not even for one day. So just a little bit of a cyncal song as a reminder of what the world really looks like to a lot of people.

another new song demo

Well, they are coming pretty fast now. Hopefully I"ll get a break soon hahaha. I need to work on my vocals lessons.....

it's difficult being this prolific. they come so fast that i don't have time to properly rehearse them before recording. This one was finished at about 11am, at 4pm it was recorded in both video and audio. and now it's posted. a bluesy rock tune...

Not that I'm complaing,but a couple of days to do my vocal lessons would be nice instead of working on yet more material. I have enough demo's recorded to release a 100 song album hahahaha. I don't think it's ever been done. Not that it should be necessarily hahahah

anyway, sorry about the rushed nature of this one. They come in, and they gotta go out before the next one knocks on the door :)

How to and How NOT to change....

Changing the string in preparation for yet another video in a few days.... and I sort of demonstrate things not to do as well as things TO do hahaha

As mentioned in the write up on youtube its' important to have a good place to work. I don't so I usually end up working on my guitars on the couch or on a chair in my lap :)

I found that I need a little practice speaking. Oh well, I'm sure I'll get it  :)

new song day

I guess it's no wonder some people call me a machine. Just wrote this tune last night after realizing that shit is even more screwed up than I previously thought. but it's a happy/groovy song so if lyrics aren't your thing don't worry about them they have a good rhythm. :)

So as usual a quick solo acoustic take in my studio.... the electric version should be coming shortly... just need to tweak the arrangement a bit.

I think I need to change the strings on my les paul tonight so that I can use it in a couple of days to get the electric demo of this song down.

In January as has been previously mentioned, I will be jamming with a couple of friends, and if all goes well we'll form a band. So at that point I plan on rerecording a lot of this stuff, but do it to the best of my ability instead of doing one offs and throw-togethers. I guess right now I'm just marking time, not taking anything too seriously as playing solo isn't nearly as much fun as playing with a band.

no shoot today, so i shot a video

Well, the photoshoot didn't happen this morning as planned. My photographer had something urgent come up and had to attend to it. We're planning on rescheduling..

But since I was all dressed up and nowhere to go I went out and bought a new dress at the thrift store  and recorded a demo of one of my tunes. It's on youtube now here....

I tried something new. I macguyvered my phone camera onto my headstock for a birds eye view of my playing... Unfortunately I wasn't all that accurate with the aim. Still, it works better than not having tried it :D

Photoshoot day!

Well, due to a technical difficulty yesterdays photoshoot will have to be reshot. Lucky me! I love modeling almost as much as I love playing guitar. Not as much as singing of course... singing is by far the thing I love most about music and life.

Here's a couple of samples of yesterday's shoot that actually turned out despite technical issues...

I really enjoy dressing to the nine's and going all out on my outfit choice. Today people don't often dress up to go out... and if they do it's still not as “up” as in times past. Going out used to be a big deal. Now a lot of folks do it in T's jeans, and sneakers.

This little black dress I'm wearing is great. Too bad I can never wear it out as it rides up heeheee. Still, for photos, it works just fine and I can finally say I didn't waste my money on it hahahahaha

The guitar is the one I've own the longest and is very special to me. It was a gift from a former partner. It's a Les Paul Goddess and she sounds great. I have 3 electrics and this one is my favourite. I try not to use it too much but I do play her and I will be using her in one of my upcoming videos.

I am looking forward to reshooting tomorrow. I'll give you an update then!
